2022 Highlights

These are just some of the great things that we’ve been able to do this year!

  • After School Art program for kids & teens.

  • Paint and Pint nights at local business, Grains & Taps.

  • We’ve received our official 501(c)(3) Tax-exempt status making us an official charitable organization.

  • We’ve hosted multiple painting & drawing classes and workshops in our studio.

  • Private events and birthday parties.

  • The Gallery at Art School has displayed art exhibits throughout the year featuring local artists from Lee’s Summit, Kansas City, and surrounding areas.

    • Jan - Feb: Foundation - Rendell Family

    • Mar - Apr: Composition - Susan Ferguson, Keith Young, Jan Bryan-Hunt

    • May - Teacher Show

    • Jun - Art Camp Student Show

    • Jul - Aug: Heartland - Nick Erker

    • Art & Charcuterie Exclusive events

    • We painted the “Rosie” mural in the Downtown Deli & Market

  • Awarded “2022 New Member Dynamo” from https://downtownls.orgDowntown Lee’s Summit Main Street, our favorite local nonprofit :)

  • ART CAMP 22. This year was bigger and better than last year! Our immersive 2 week long art camps included: painting, drawing, screenprinting, mixed media, animation, and ceramics. Our camps run June through July and SOLD OUT. It was so amazing to see the community of young artists!

  • We contract local artists to teach, giving us more opportunities to provide classes in different mediums and perspectives.

  • And finally, our little ceramics studio has grown into a booming art center. We offer the only wheel throwing and handbuilding in Lee’s Summit and our monthly classes and Clay Nights are a popular local secret.

  • Working with Harmony House on monthly basis

  • Building a strong art community

  • Working with local school districts

    • Provided judges and awards for Ray-Pec’s High School Art competition

    • Hosted Professional Development for LSR-7 Elementary Art teachers.
